Preferred Lenders

Preferred Mortgage Lenders for Pinehurst & Moore County Home Buyers!

Getting pre-approved is the first real step to buying a home in Pinehurst, Southern Pines or anywhere in Moore County. A pre-approval tells you your budget and makes your offer stronger. Sellers here expect it, especially in competitive golf and gated communities.

These are loan officers I’ve worked with on past closings. They answer their phones, explain each step clearly, and close on time. You’re never required to use them, but they’re a good place to start. Many of my buyers are military families and veterans, so ask each lender about VA loans if you’re eligible.

How to Choose a Lender

  • Compare at least two Loan Estimates. Look at the rate, the APR, lender fees and the cash needed at closing, not just the monthly payment.
  • Ask about loan types. These include conventional, VA, FHA, USDA (used in rural parts of Moore County such as Vass and Cameron), and jumbo loans for higher-priced Pinehurst homes.
  • Check how fast they close. In North Carolina, your loan has to be ready within the contract timeline, so a local lender who knows our due diligence process helps.
  • Get fully pre-approved before house hunting, not just pre-qualified.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to use one of Clio’s preferred lenders?
No. You can use any lender you like. These are simply loan officers who have been responsive and reliable for my past clients.

Should I get pre-approved before I look at homes in Pinehurst?
Yes. Most sellers expect a pre-approval letter with an offer. It also keeps you from falling for a home outside your budget.

Can I use a VA loan to buy in Moore County?
Yes, if you’re an eligible veteran, active-duty service member or surviving spouse. VA loans often need no down payment. Ask the lender to confirm your eligibility and get your Certificate of Eligibility.

How long does it take to close on a home in Moore County?
Most home purchases close in about 30 to 45 days once you’re under contract. Land often takes six to eight weeks.
